~the final~

At last, I have to come to the end of the semester and that means I need to submit my research paper to my supervisor. As far as I am concern, I have devoted myself to this assignment and really made me feel relief to complete it. This assignment made me a real student as it teaches me to critic something academically and as person, it teaches me to be more rationale in decision making. After all, I did not regret anything because I have done all that I can in order to finish the task. In addition, it makes me think back the hardship of doing it as for me it is the tougher assignment I ever done. As a whole, this subject is an interesting subject because it made me think critically on literature and I can give my opinion as I like to a piece of literary work. However, I need to be concrete in my points and need to consider professional’s view as they are more knowledgeable than me. As a whole, this is an experience for me to bring in my teaching field when I become a teacher after I graduated.

~jane austen~

I have chosen to analyze about a write because for me it is an interesting task if you know indebt about a writer. I am interested with Jane Austen writing because she always got an issue in her piece of writing. In addition, all the issues are related to each other and have been presented in ironic way. Jane Austen is one of the woman authors in literature world. For me, she was a good writer because she represent woman in a different way. For many writers, they always represent woman as an oppress society. However, Austen represent woman as a valuable society. She taught readers to realize what woman should do in this world. Even, she put woman lower than man but still she created them as person who can do what they want as long as they have done their responsibility to their family. Woman in Austen’s world still get what they want without forgetting their duty. As a whole, I like Jane Austen because she made woman realize their duty as well as fight for their own rights.

~the task~

Still, we are at our research paper. However, at this moment we have decided what to do. We just need to find points and evidence to make our research concrete. We struggle to finish it and make it as best as we can with the help of our supervisor. This subject really teaches us something as it makes us think a lots and not just narrow to one thing. As a teacher, he or she needs to thinks something in many aspects before he or she decides on something. For instance, when we do this research paper, we tend to take account all aspects and this can be related to real life situations whereby we need to make sure everything perfect as we can. To make sure about it, we need to consider all things so that we will be satisfy with our last decisions. On top of that, this research paper has made us to do our assignment properly because all that we write will be related with want at the first place. In all, this is a relevant project for students.

~essay~

Essay…for me it is a boring text because I cannot differentiate it with letter, diary or autobiography. I look at it as the two piece of writing. I cannot find the difference because it is very similar to each other. In addition, the format is same as diary. If I have become a teacher I will not use this piece of writing for my lesson because it is very confusing as I also not sure whether it is an essay or not. I rather not take the risk to use it as I will create confuse to my students. However, if teacher want to use it for reading classroom then it will be appropriate because students will have the opportunity to read different kind of text. But not for literature classroom because it hard for students to analyze this text. Additionally, essay is not suitable for Malaysian students as it make students feel bored with it. This text is suitable for university students because it make them more critical. As a whole, still essay is a boring text for me because I did not get the enjoyment when reading it.

~A&L~

Autobiography or letter? Should this two piece of writing be put in secondary school? Can secondary school students analyze this kind of text and can they understand it? All this questions have come up to my mind as I learn all this kind of writing. For me, it is appropriate to put this two piece of writing as they give students certain advantages in real life. For instance, autobiography can make students realize about real life situation that an author tries to convey and it can be as a motivation for them. But, teacher must ensure that his or her students are from the higher and intermediate level of proficiency because these piece of work play with bombastic words. If teacher wants to use it for low level of proficiency, they need to adapt the material and change it so that it can be understood by the students. For me, teacher can use them in secondary classroom as long as teacher believes that his or her students can understand the text. If teacher is unsure about it, I advice his or her not to use it in the classroom. As a whole, a variety of text will produce a rounded students and it will make them more critical and creative in cooperating real life situation.

~challenging life~

This project paper really makes me a student. I did not say that before this I was not a students, but this assignment is really challenge me mentally and physically. Luckily I got a kind supervisor who encourages me to do it slowly and relevantly. After I have chosen what I want to do, I need to find information about it and the information must be concrete. However, I need to read it as a whole and put my own view to critic and analyze it. I cannot use the information that I have read as my own opinion. The information is just as a help for me to have better understanding about the text or the writer. The task is become harder and harder for us because most of us need to be independent because each of us get a different supervisor and each supervisor hope a different work from us. So, we cannot ask our friend if we have a problem. We need to find time to see the supervisor and we need to run to him or her to know what we should do for this assignment. Nevertheless, this has made very strong students as they need to be on their own to find the knowledge. Students also need to survive in order for them to live in this challenging world. By making themselves familiar with this situation, I bet, they can coop with outside world when the graduated from university.

~Project&Life~

Now we are continuing with our project paper. For me, it is a huge task whereby I need to put all my interest in literature. I need to put all my knowledge in analyzing literary text. In addition I cannot do it just on my own. I have to see my supervisor from time to time so that I am in the right tract. For the beginning, this project paper is a scary word for me because I thought I need to do research on literature. However, after I see my supervisor, my perception changed as it is not as I thought. I need to find a piece of literary text or author and critic it by my own personal views. For me, this task has give me the opportunity to be myself as it make me critic about literary text as I like (but of course, not out of tract). Briefly, this makes me a better thinker as I have to choose the writer or text that could attract my interest. The beginning is the hardest process as I need to think carefully what I want to do and make sure I can go on until the end. As a becoming teacher, this has helped me see from the side of teaching field. I need to choose the best way to teach my students and attract their interest so that they can be with me until the end of the lesson. As a whole, for me, an assignment has its own purpose and it can help a student to become a better person when they graduated.

~ProjecT or ProjecT~

After I finished my position paper, I need to continue with my project paper. This will need me to do research on something. As for me, I love Jane Austen pieces of work because she was a good writer and her issues were very clear. She also includes advices in all her novels even they all have been represented silently. This project paper makes me learn something in doing a research. I need to put, own opinions and thoughts to make it a concrete piece of work. Additionally, I need to analyse Jane Austen pieces of work before I judge her writing. This made me read lots of her novels and made me have the clear view on how she wrote her stories. In fact, this project paper made me read lots..hehe.

~critique and solid~

Come again to my position paper. It is a hard work for me because I have spent many times on it. This time I need to find some supporting points for my thesis statement. Luckily it is not as hard as thesis statement. I just need to find points and evidences to support what I have said earlier. Thank god, mine have been approve the second time I showed to my tutor. She has helped me a lot and she really shows me the right path. For me, these supporting points are just like my own decision in taking the right path. It makes me choose the best among them so in the end I have no regret in life. Luckily when I showed my supporting points to my tutor, she accepted them and it is a relief for me. Now, I need to continue on my evidences and hoe I wanted to make it into an essay with sentences that make readers accept it with no doubt. In addition, I also have to be careful with what I want to say because sometimes what we say can affect others, especially in literature context. As a whole, this assignment really help me a lots in my study and in my way of criticize something.

~MaHaBrAtA~

MAHABRATA is one of the epic stories that I learned in class. This short story is interesting because it tells me about other culture and belief. Even I do not have the prior knowledge about it, I seek for information from my friends who are Indians and they explain to me what it is all about. I understand the story line, but I need more information about the characters in the story. By reading this short story, I know what other culture belief and thought and as a member of a society I should respect it. It also helps me to gain knowledge so that when I go to ceremony of this society, I know what it is and I know how to respect it. Reading story can give us lots of information about real life situations. We not only gain interests, but we also gain some knowledge of something and as a result we can adapt it in our real life. As a conclusion, read more and gain more…

~thesis~

I have already started to think of my thesis statement for my position paper. It looked easy but actually it was a tough one. I have to re-do my thesis statement a few times because they were not in the level of university students. However, after a hard work of thinking and revising with my friends, I manage to get it done and it is really a relief for me. For me, this is a real challenge as a university students and this help me to prepare if I wanted to further my study because it will be going a hard work. This thesis statement thing teaches me to become more realistic and rational in doing something. In addition, it teaches me not to look back and admit my fault even if I think it is right. I have to consider other thought of something and with that I can improve myself. It just a real life situation where we need to consider many things before we do something in life. As a whole, this position paper makes me a better student as I think critically from time to time until it done.

~to Do or NOT to Do~

This week I have lots of pressure because of my thesis statement. I need to make a concrete, logic and educated thesis statement. My thesis statements have been rejected for many times until I become depressed and do not want to do it anymore. However, all my friends consulted me and they gave me courage to continue. Here, I learn something. It is not easy to make our dream come true and it is not easy to make people believe in what we believe. As foe the thesis statement, it just likes my dream and I need to persuade my lecturer who acts as people to believe my dream. I need to go through lots of challenges in order for me to achieve my dream. In the end, I successfully achieve it and the most important thing is I gain it with my own efforts and courage. Even though I went lots of trouble, still I manage to do it and it makes me realize that to achieve something we need lots of work. In the end, we will appreciate what we did and satisfy with what we have. Last but not least, do not give up on what you have working on and continue to do it until you and end of it…fighting!

~old text, new text~

Do we need to learn old literary text? In my opinion we should learn it as we can vary our knowledge of literature. In past lesson, I got to understand an old version of literary text which entitles Daedalus and Icarus. It was an interesting story but make myself confuse the first time I read it. However, I gain the opportunity to learn new thing which were I learn old English language and the way ancient writer wrote their story. It made me realized that literature has come along with culture and society around the world and literature is the one who made a society been remembered until now. So, learned old text is a good opportunity for me as it teaches me to appreciate something. For instance, the story Daedalus and Icarus made me know the way ancient people belief and way of life as in the story stated that they belief to their king and think that people who can fly is a god. As a conclusion, I would like to stress here, read as many as literary text that you can and choose that can attract your interest because they can give something in your life.

~Myths,Legends,Tales~

The first class for this subject has made me realize that each society has their own way to represent themselves. For ancient, they done it by telling stories to the members of the society and they will follow what they have been told by the story teller. There are a different between myths, legends and tales. However, in my opinion all of them are still the same as they tell the readers about the society. Or in other word, all of them resemble the society way of life. Sometimes, the story is fun and sometimes full of expressions. However, most of them teach reader some moral values in life and they should follow it to have a better life. Personally, I love to read all this kind of stories because they teach me to handle this life professionally. By knowing the different between the three of them make me realize that each of them have their own criteria that make them special in each society. Last but not least, as a person who belongs to a society, I think that each of us must do something so that we do not lose these traditional stories that have their own specialties and value in literature world.

ThE BeginninG!!!

This semester, I have to make as many as reflections I can write and put them in my own web. This is to make me think critically and argue what I want to say. Even though, it sounds easy but I have to make sure that all my reflection have their own quality and must be rational to the reader. As for me, this is an opportunity to develop my own writing skill and encourage me to see something out of the box. I hope this will make me a better thinker and a better person in criticize something in the future.
